About our guides:

We make great, interactive travel guides.
To make our guides we use the content that is freely available. Open content sites like Wikitravel, Wikipedia, World66 and Openstreetmap are among the best resources for any traveler. Our mission is to make that content relevant for you. So we mix and mash and annotate - and we distill great, relevant travel guides out of it.

We like open content. In fact some of us were involved in World66, one of the first open content travel guides on the web. Our travel guides are very much a re-mix of open content out there.

Currently were using content from: Wikipedia, Wikitravel, World66, Open Streetmaps, DMOZ and Chefmoz

Were big fans of these projects. If you stumble across some inaccurate information in this guide, we would appreciate
it if you correct it on the web site of these projects.

Pros and cons of Japan Travel Guide by Triposo app for iPhone and iPad

Japan Travel Guide by Triposo app good for

Very good app and is offline! Thats nice when you are traveling!
The first time in my live that I rate an app and this APP is just fantastic and worth it to take the time!! I am using it currently for Tokyo (three month stay) and it provide me with so many information! It is very clear structured and simple to use! It changed my live since I am in Tokyo and use it! Thank you very much guys for such a astonishing App. I would recommend it to anyone else who want to know more about the place he/she is living, even when you are not a tourist! Very good work, go ahead with such an enthusiastic approach of customer orientation and service!! I hope it will be soon for my permanent residence Hamburg, Germany available!! Best regards, A.S.
Great app. Many informations, useful and very helpful. Thanks a lot !!
Ive been looking for an app like this for my trip to Japan and this is exactly what I was hoping for. Maps are good and it functions very well. Includes all the cities I was planning on visiting.
I only used this as a map/ compass because I pre-planed my entire trip. I stayed in Japan for over 3 weeks and travelled in Tokyo, Mitaka, Yokohama, Hakone, Kamarua, Kyoto and Osaka. The map was incredibly useful even for the smaller streets. Definitely a must during the trip.
Great tool. I was using it a lot when I was in Japan. I especially liked the fact that you can use it in offline mode. The map with gps was very helpful. I would definitely recommend it.

Some bad moments

I like Triposo. It has some good insight and linking to hours, cost, and reviews, but even though the app has made improvements since a year ago, it still manages to be clunky. I would like to see: 1. Bigger text. In particular, "Show more tips" should be bolder, perhaps in a button rather than a tiny line in the bottom right of a sightseeing page. 2. Higher resolution default picture. The user uploaded pictures ares fine, but why such pixelated and low res default picture (the same one used as background image for a location? To save server bandwidth? 3. How do you see other peoples suggested city walks? This isnt clearly shown at the moment. Users have many chances to CREATE and SHARE, but how do you VIEW others city walks?
I like the old color scheme it was better to look at. Need to have a night mode I guess.
Just got back from a visit to Osaka and Kyoto. This was helpful, especially the offline maps, suggestions etc.
I went to visit Japan this December and ended up using it a lot and showing to people to help me. This is a great app to have. But there is a lot to see in Japan. Even when you thought you seen everything on the app, you run into more thing.
I REALLY WANT to go to Japan and this travel guide gives me everything I need to know! Im sooooooo happy! THANK YOU FOR CREATING THIS APP!!!!!
There is not a thing this app does not satisfy! Common words, signs, phrases, everything you need to get around. It also has a neat travel log- a nice touch. Locations, restaurants, things to see and do- this app has it all!
